As we read about Jesus’s journey to Jerusalem in the Gospel of Luke, we reflect on what it means for Jesus to lead us through death itself and come out victorious. Ecclesiastes 7 reminds us that wisdom and reflection are rooted in the heart, not merely in appearances. In 2 Corinthians 1, Paul teaches that the comfort God provides equips us to understand and support others in their struggles. Luke 19 shows Jesus seeing beyond the outward life of Zacchaeus and meeting him where he is while also demonstrating discernment and bringing about the power to transform lives. Jesus is anointed to lead with the ability to understand and respond to the world in a way that is faithful to his Father’s will. Pastor Alec preaches the message.
