The Season of Lent calls us to reflect on our lives in light of Jesus’s journey to the cross. We now have a new piece in our chancel which reflects that journey. It is called a "crux lucis" ("cross of light").

Each week, as we recite Psalm 51, we light another candle on the cross of light representing another step in Jesus lighting the way to the cross ahead of us. he leads us through death into life. The first candle is lit on Ash Wednesday. The seventh and final candle is lit on Maundy Thursday. The candles are then extinguished on Good Friday and lit again on Easter Sunday reminding us that the darkness cannot overcome the true light that has come into the world!
